Greetings to all ratepayers and residents of Opua.
To let you all know what is happening here are a few items of interest.
Remember if you have any ideas on how we can improve our village, please come forward and tell us.
Remember most of these projects need financing so donations into our Trust account are very welcome as without them we cannot achieve these improvements.
Speed sign by the Opua School.
Hopefully, you have noticed a new addition to Franklin Street lately. A local man (who wishes to remain nameless) donated the wonderful
Speed Indicator Device to the community to help make the school a safer place. Over the past year, members from LoveOpua have liaised with the FNDC and other agencies to find a suitable location and the correct permissions to install it.
Finally, everything came together, and members from LoveOpua installed it nearly a month ago. It is amazingly effective in slowing down the traffic, and hopefully, it will save numerous people from getting a speeding ticket.
This project is led by Jane Sounders
